Billy Idol performs during 'Billy Idol: Forever' opening night residency at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on March 16, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With a rebel yell, Billy Idol’s been crying ‘more, more, more!” for more than 40 years. He got his start in the British punk band Generation X, who is best known in North America for their single, Ready, Steady Go. But it was as a solo artist, with his platinum blonde hair and pop hooks courtesy of guitarist Stevie Stevens that Billy Idol hit the mainstream in a big way.

Check out a rundown of his amazing run of hit singles on the Billboard charts during the 1980s:

1982 “Hot in the City” 23
“White Wedding” 36
1984 “Rebel Yell” 46
“Eyes Without a Face” 4
“Flesh for Fantasy” 29
1986 “To Be a Lover” 6
1987 “Don’t Need a Gun” 37
“Sweet Sixteen” 20
“Mony Mony” (Live) 1
1990 “Cradle of Love” 2
