DIRECTOR, PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Reporting to Vice President, OEM partnerships, Connected Services & Aftermarket

The Director, Product Development, is responsible for the development and ongoing management of SiriusXM Canada’s products and services. The role requires building relationships and working collaboratively with SiriusXM US to bring targeted products and services to the Canadian market. This includes regularly engaging with the User Experience Design team, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Customer Care, IT, Legal and other corporate stakeholders to clearly identify, communicate and document features and requirements for Canada. This position is based in Canada with frequent travel to the US.

Accountabilities

  • Ensure successful development, implementation and maintenance of key products and services to support corporate strategic direction
  • Develop and present required business cases to obtain required approvals for strategic initiatives
  • Leverage and develop relationships with SiriusXM US to support Canadian development and launch efforts
  • Identify any post launch in-market issues; communicate issues to all affected teams
  • Work with SiriusXM US teams to define new feature requirements and adjustments as necessary over product lifecycle
  • Develop short-term and long-term service roadmaps for product and service portfolio
  • Define and drive SiriusXM customer lifecycle management roadmap for connected products; this includes connected vehicles, mobile apps, connected home and browser-based entertainment product catalog
  • Lead cross-functional activities in relation to key products and services
  • Work with internal teams to ensure product launch readiness for target dates, including provision of ongoing support to SiriusXM Customer Care, Marketing, etc.
  • Negotiate and execute all required agreements and contracts as required in support of partner initiatives
  • Support PR activities to generate awareness of new products, services and partnerships
  • Continuously monitor competitive apps to evaluate new service offerings and assess competitive threats
  • Provide status updates to management team regarding project progress, as necessary
  • Use reporting and analysis to better understand user behaviour and trends, in order to assist in better positioning of products and services
  • Effectively and accurately manage Product Development budget
  • Other related tasks as required

Level of Education

  • BS/BA in Business, Marketing or Engineering, or equivalent work experience

Job Related Experience

  • 10 years’ relevant experience in product development within CE, technology and IP environment
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in product management of consumer digital and software products
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in lifecycle management
  • 1-3 years’ experience working with Android and/or iOS mobile applications
  • Agile training and experience preferred
  • Experience with JIRA, JAMA, COGNOS, Microsoft OneDrive and Confluence preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
