Reporting to Director, Business Metrics, Finance

The Senior Financial Analyst collects, analyzes, forecasts and reports accurate financial information related to business operations. This position enables the effective evaluation of business performance and decision-making in the areas of acquisition and subscriber metrics.


    • Hold responsibility for financial planning, analysis, forecasting and reporting based on company performance, market conditions, competitive activities and growth opportunities
    • Support analysis, recommendation and implementation of solutions and improvements
    • Assist in continuous improvement of process with respect to efficiency, transparency and overall effectiveness in driving better business decisions
    • Liaise with Business Unit leaders to drive channel growth, developing reports and analysis to aid decision-making
    • Deliver actual reporting to acquisition channels and Finance team, including tracking on key metrics in relation to month-end finance activities
    • Analyze and provide documentation with detailed variance explanations of actuals versus budget, as well as prior year information
    • Manage forecasting models: update actuals; gather assumptions; and update model for changes to business
    • Monitor month-end accruals and reversals process; manage operational expenses for acquisition cost centers
    • Prepare reports and recommendations, enabling effective evaluation and analysis of business performance and decision-making with respect to subscriber metrics; includes net additions, conversion rates, drivers of ARPU and pricing initiatives as well as price- and volume-related analysis
    • Create promotions and business cases related to subscription performance for senior management approval
    • Conduct sensitivity analysis, decision papers and post-mortem analysis for review by senior executive team
    • Analyze impact of promotions; present lessons learned
    • Prepare reports and presentations for monthly management meetings
    • Advise on and participate in financial and modelling aspects of pricing, conversion rates and sales funnel of new and preowned vehicles; includes assessing impact of changes to price versus volume for forecast and budgeting as well as monthly reports and analysis
    • Develop, implement and employ tools for managing and analyzing financial performance
    • Create tracking sheets; explain variance and trending
    • Create tools to measure NPV and success of proposals
    • Assist in period and ad-hoc report preparation, period analysis, forecast and reforecast preparation, as well as building of detailed planning templates and strategic plans

Level of Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration or economics
  • CPA, CA, CMA, CGA or equivalent recognized Accounting designation

Job Related Experience

  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience

Skills and Background

  • Microsoft Excel: expert level
  • SQL: intermediate level
  • Familiarity with subscriber-based business
