Watercolors (Ch. 66) celebrates the connection of jazz and gospel with guest host, saxophonist Kirk Whalum showcasing his new album, The Gospel According to Jazz Chapter IV.
Tuesday, April 7
Real Jazz (Ch. 67) presents Lady Day Radio, an all day celebration co-hosted by vocalists Dee Dee Bridgewater and Jose James featuring music by and inspired by Billie Holiday, celebrating the 100th anniversary of her birth.

Listen for The Jazz Fellowship Awards from Indianapolis, sponsored by the American Pianists Association, on Real Jazz (Ch. 67) at 8pm ET. Held every four years, this prestigious competition has been called the “Olympics of jazz piano”. The broadcast features the five competitors accompanying vocalist Dianne Reeves and hosted by superstar musician and raconteur Christian McBride.
Beginning Sunday, April 19
Watercolors (Ch. 66) broadcasts a week of exclusive nightly concerts from the 2015 Smooth Jazz Cruise. Featuring contemporary greats, Marcus Miller, David Sanborn, Jonathan Butler, Boney James, Brian Culbertson and more, leading to the April 26th broadcast of the 3rd annual “Watercolors Jazz Hall of Fame Concert” aboard the cruise honoring contemporary jazz greats George Duke and Gerald Albright with an all-star lineup of musicians.
Monday, April 20th
Real Jazz (Ch. 67) broadcasts the National Endowment for the Arts, Jazz Masters Fellowship Awards Ceremony live from Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York at 7:30pm ET. The NEA Jazz Masters is the highest honor our nation bestows on jazz musicians. This year the honorees are saxophonists Charles Lloyd and George Coleman, composer/pianist Carla Bley and legendary Chicago jazz impresario Joe Segal. The show includes audio highlights and tributes and performances from past honorees hosted by bassist Christian McBride.
Thursday, April 30th
Diana Krall is the guest host on Watercolors (Ch. 66) for a special showcase of her new album, Wallflower.
Real Jazz (Ch. 67) will also feature extensive birthday tributes during the month to Duke Ellington, Herbie Hancock, singers Ella Fitzgerald and Carmen McRae as well as 94 years-young percussionist Candio, whose new album The Master will be part of full day of Latin Jazz on his birthday April 22nd.
