Hear the new Stone Sour EP ‘Straight Outta Burbank’ early on Octane!

Stone Sour

Grammy Award-winning rockers Stone Sour are set to release second installment of their covers trilogy, Straight Outta Burbank, on Black Friday (or as music lovers prefer call it, Record Store Day), but SiriusXM listeners can hear the EP early, exclusively on Octane (Ch. 37)!

Band members Corey Taylor and Josh Rand will take you through the album and play all five songs before they become available on November 27. You can also check out two of the tracks, Seasons In The Abyss (Slayer cover) and Too Fast For Love (Mötley Crüe cover) below!

Speaking of Seasons in the Abyss, Corey Taylor said, “I know this was a bold choice. We’re all huge Slayer fans and ‘Seasons’ is just one of those tunes that, you know, I think everybody can remember when it first came out. We were just blown away when we first heard it. It was such a solid, solid tune, and that was just the one that we all agreed we would love to try our hand at. So we gave it a shot, and I think it came out pretty badass.”

Josh Rand added: “Out of the five bands that we cover on this EP, I feel Slayer has had the most impact on Stone Sour. You can hear a little bit of it in the drumming, guitar riffs or growling vocals. [We] would like to dedicate it to Jeff Hanneman.”

Seasons In The Abyss

As for their cover of Too Fast for Love, Corey Taylor said he hopes they “did it justice” for Nikki Sixx.

“I am a huge Crüe head,” he noted. “And Too Fast For Love, a lot of people forget just how good that first album was. So good. It was punk, it was rock, it was pop, it was just great. And the song Too Fast For Love is just an absolute classic.”
