John Stamos talks rehab, Fuller House on the Howard Stern Show

The Howard Stern Show kicked off 2016 with the return of Hollywood heartthrob John Stamos, the star of not one, but two television shows – FOX’s Grandfathered and the upcoming Netflix series, Fuller House.

Stamos and Howard are longtime friends, which you could certainly hear as the two discussed recent events in the life of the actor, including his stint in rehab after his DUI arrest last year.

“I really don’t have anything to hide anymore,” said Stamos. “… my last ten [years], my father passed away, I had a divorce … I went sort of down a wrong path. “It was a path that was even darker following the death of his mother. “I lost myself. I lost my sense of discipline, which my dad taught me so well. More and more, I was just dipping into that dark place.”

It wasn’t all doom and gloom for Stamos, though. Having hopefully conquered his demons, he’s the star of two tv shows, including Fuller House, the spin-off of the ABC classic sitcom, Full House, which hits Netflix in February. All of your favourites are returning, with the exception of twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson, who both played the role of the youngest Tanner, Michelle, on the original series. The two declined to appear, according to Stamos. “They were very sweet, they seemed very into it. They just were afraid of acting, they hadn’t acted, they don’t consider themselves actresses.”

Stamos and Howard also pulled a prank on Wack Packer High Pitch Erik, who had a banner day on the show, scoring a Flat Ronnie cardboard cutout after losing 16 pounds over the Christmas holidays.
