Metallica announce Canadian WorldWired Tour Dates

After a blistering performance at the Grammy Awards (mic issues be damned), this morning Metallica announced their WorldWired Tour is hitting North America this summer. The band will be playing stadiums across the U.S. and Canada for their first extensive tour in these parts since 2009.

The first meal band to enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is touring in support of their latest release, Hardwired…to Self-Destruct. The album debut at #1 in 57 countries, including Canada and the U.S.

SiriusXM had the chance to talk to guitarist Kirk Hammett during the band’s promotional tour for the album, which you can check out below.

General on-sale for tickets is this Friday, February 17th at 10 am ET.

July 14 – Quebec City, QC – Festival D’Ete de Quebec (festival show)
July 16 – Toronto, ON – Rogers Centre (opening acts Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat)
August 14 – Vancouver, BC – BC Place (opening acts are Gojira and Avenged Sevenfold)
August 16 – Edmonton, AB – Commonwealth Stadium (opening acts are Gojira and Avenged Sevenfold)
