Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 – Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Islanders
1:00 PM Eastern – Sirius XM 91
The Penguins and Islanders have built up a great rivalry over the decades, and this time around both franchises sport similar records as they set themselves for the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 – Dallas Stars at Anaheim Ducks
9:00 PM Eastern – Sirius XM 220
Heading into the 2015-16 regular season, most expected the Ducks to be a powerhouse, while the Stars might make the playoffs. Strike that from the list; Anaheim got there, but they took a while to get into gear. Dallas are most definitely going to be in the post-season, and are in a three-way battle with the Blues and Blackhawks.
Monday, April 4th, 2016 – Los Angeles Kings at Vancouver Canucks
9:35 PM Eastern – Sirius XM 91
After missing the playoffs last season, the Kings are going back to the post-season. After making the playoffs last season, the Canucks are going to sit this one out. While Vancouver are playing for next year, Los Angeles are reaching for first in the Pacific Division.
Tuesday, April 5th, 2016 – Tampa Bay Lightning at New York Rangers
7:30 PM Eastern – Sirius XM 91
The past two Eastern Conference representatives in the Stanley Cup Finals, both teams feature top-notch goaltending, which means they could be back there again this spring. It took a while for the Lightning to wake up, but they did, and have been fighting with the Florida Panthers for the top spot in the Atlantic Division. No-one is catching the Capitals for first place in the Metropolitan Division, but second place is up for grabs, and the Rangers are trying to hold off the hard charging Penguins for that spot.
Wednesday, April 6th, 2016 – Philadelphia Flyers at Detroit Red Wings
8:00 PM Eastern – Sirius XM 219
A great late-season match-up between two clubs battling for the final Eastern Conference wildcard spot. They have been flip-flopping back and forth, and this game will be huge in determining who gets to face the powerhouse Washington Capitals in the first round of the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Thursday, April 7th, 2016 – Pittsburgh Penguins at Washington Capitals
7:00 PM Eastern – Sirius XM 222
Sparks always fly when the Pens and Caps meet up on a sheet of ice. Washington has run away with the East this season, though that doesn’t seem to faze Pittsburgh, who always bring their A game when they face their rivals. This would make for a fantastic Eastern Conference Final.
Friday, April 8th, 2016 – Anaheim Ducks at Los Angeles Kings
10:30 PM Eastern – Sirius XM 219
Another one of the great rivalries in the National Hockey League, these two Southern Californian teams are both legitimate Stanley Cup contenders this time around, though they could be playing a pickup on a Wednesday night in mid-July, and the intensity would be there!
