Monday evening the rumours came true and Hell froze over – Guns N Roses, complete with founding members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan and longtime keyboardist Dizzy Reed, are reuniting at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California for two shows – Saturday, April 16th and then one week later on Saturday, April 23rd.
For anyone who has followed their career, and even if you haven’t, you’re likely aware of the bad blood between Axl and Slash. So much bad blood, in fact, that the idea of the two of them onstage together has been one of those things music fans have considered an impossibility. In the Spring of 2015, Slash revealed that he and Axl had finally had a conversation after years estranged, putting much of their bad blood aside.
The rumoured line-up of Guns N Roses for these shows and a potential summer stadium tour isn’t the classic G’n’R, though, so don’t expect to see Steven Adler, Matt Sorum or Izzy Stradlin anywhere onstage. Instead, current members Frank Ferrer (drums), Chris Pitman (multiple instruments) and Richard Fortus (guitars) and former Velvet Revolver guitarist Dave Kushner will likely appear with the originals.
With the stage set for what will definitely be a memorable reunion (hopefully without any riots or late starts, here are 5 songs that the reunited Guns N Roses must play when they hit the stage in a few months.
