Canadian Content

Committed to the home-grown talent of today and tomorrow.

Our Commitment to Promoting Canadian Talent

Since the launch of satellite radio in Canada in 2005, SiriusXM Canada’s goal is to consistently deliver the best music, entertainment and exclusive content to you, our subscribers. This is especially true when it comes to generating and providing Canadian content.

Every year, we:

  • Develop over 120,000 hours of Canadian programming.
  • Provide access to our programming to both major Canadian regions and rural and remote areas with limited radio operations.
  • Provide increased diversity and a wide variety of programming choices available to all Canadians and exposure to home-grown talent to a North American audience.
  • Help emerging English and French Canadian musicians grow their audiences both in Canada and the U.S.
  • Provide increased exposure and financial support for Canadian musicians and spoken word artists, particularly new and emerging artists.

Our Contribution

Through our subscription business model we have:

  • Contributed in excess of $175 million directly to artists through copyright and royalty fees.
  • Contributed to the development and promotion of Canadian artists; our investment in music education and the cultural infrastructure required to provide this promotion is over $110 million since SiriusXM Canada began operating in Canada.

Each year, SiriusXM Canada dedicates millions of dollars and commits its platform to programs and initiatives designed to provide support and exposure to up-and-coming Canadian artists and music education. We look forward to continue to provide subscribers the best and brightest talent our country has to offer.
