Specialist, Events & Canadian Content Correspondent, English (Contract)

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing

The Specialist, Events and Canadian Content Correspondent is this summer’s ultimate gig. Working in collaboration with the SiriusXM Marketing team, the Specialist will help drive the development and execution of SiriusXM’s live Canadian Content Development (CCD) events in support of Canadian music and spoken word talent. This role will support the promotion of Canadian artists and the broadcast of their music and spoken word content by producing cutting-edge promotional content on social media by capturing special moments at live CCD events and executing support and sponsorship asset coordination for all CCD initiatives.

The candidate will be responsible for the following items:

Canadian Content Development

  • Travel to music festivals and events throughout the summer, capturing and posting content on social media to bring SiriusXM’s CCD initiatives to life in digital in order to promote the broadcast of Canadian musical and spoken word content.
  • Be the face of SiriusXM and produce cutting-edge content for social media to promote the development and support of Canadian musical and spoken word content for broadcast.
  • Capture special moments and festival content to promote Canadian music that can quickly turn into social content to help drive engagement for the promotion and development of Canadian Artists’ music and spoken word content for broadcast.
  • Assist in coordination of SiriusXM proprietary CCD events and programs and establish self as on-site contact with sponsorship leads (where applicable.)
  • Execute and act as SiriusXM representative for CCD event onsite requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee production and execution of all onsite CCD event marketing materials.
  • Contribute daily to ongoing editorial content calendars.
  • CCD contest coordination and prizing fulfillment.
  • Supporting the execution of English CCD activities.
  • Assist in aligning CCD programs to Conditions of Licence as set by organization.
  • Assist in ensuring direction of CCD funding towards focus, development and growth of Canadian musical and comedic talent for broadcast within CCD guidelines.


  • Associated budget tracking and reporting across all activities as required.
  • Support Manager with other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Level of Education

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or college diploma, or a recent graduate, with specialization in events, media, marketing or journalism.

Job Related Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in social content development
  • Minimum 1-2 years in event planning
  • Expert understanding of functionality of social media platforms and what content resonates best with audiences
  • Experience conceptualizing and producing engaging and unique social content
  • Understanding of audio entertainment and music streaming landscape
  • Proven track record of working with cross-functional groups and departments

  • Excellent communicator, comfortable interviewing festivalgoers and music talent
  • Ability to operate a vehicle required
