Celebrate George Harrison’s Birthday with Two Classic Concerts

This upcoming Monday, February 25th marks the 76th birthday of George Harrison of The Beatles. Though George passed away in 2001 at the young age of 58, his music and memory still looms large over his millions of fans.

This weekend, in memory of George, The Beatles Channel is shining the spotlight on two amazing concerts with the Quiet Beatle at their core.

First, at 1 am ET on Saturday, February 23rd, The Beatles Channel is taking an in-depth look at the concert that honoured George with his closest family and friends 1 year after his passing. The Concert For George.

Then, at 9 am ET, SiriusXM presents the performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall that took place 1 year after George’s passing. Olivia and Dhani Harrison, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne and many others gathered to pay tribute.

The Concert For George will replay Sunday, February 24th at 8 pm ET.

Finally, at 9 pm ET on Saturday, February 23rd, SiriusXM presents the first big benefit concert which inspired many others. It featured an All Star lineup including Eric Clapton, Ravi Shankar, Billy Preston, Leon Russell, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr and leader George Harrison. From New York’s Madison Square Garden on August 1st, 1971, it’s The Concert for Bangladesh – on The Beatles Channel.

The Concert for Bangladesh will replay Sunday, February 24th at 6 am ET.
