Acclaimed singer-songwriter David Gray is going to host a new monthly music show on SiriusXM!
The new, exclusive show, Tracing The Curve, will feature David sharing insight into the singer and songwriter world and feature music by artists like Van Morrison, Nick Drake, Nina Simone, David Bowie, Elliott Smith and Lou Reed.
“Having been invited by SiriusXM to put some radio shows together, I found myself diving like a seal beneath the surface of my day to day life and into the murky depths of my music library,” said David Gray. “I emerged several days later clutching several loosely themed playlists between my teeth. Any sonic adventure of this kind is deserving of a title, I arrived at ‘Tracing The Curve’. “
Tracing The Curve will premiere on Saturday, February 27 at 12:00 pm ET on SiriusXM’s Coffee House, via satellite on channel 14 and through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as On Demand, and online at siriusxm.ca.
David Gray has established himself as one of the UK’s leading music artists both at home and overseas. That Grammy-nominated artist’s commercial success is also backed up by a critical consensus and numerous accolades. His 2009 release Draw The Line was met with critical praise and garnered the artist a series of high profile television appearances, as well as two sold out tours of the US. Foundling, Gray’s 9th studio album picked up where Draw the Line left off and created a new chapter of lush, soulful songs that found the artist returning to his folk music roots. Foundling debuted at #9 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart. David Gray’s tenth and latest album Mutineers, found the singer-songwriter steering into unfamiliar territory while cultivating a respectful relationship with his own history. The release was hailed by The Guardian – which declared that there is “a rare comfort in hearing an artist in pursuit of joy.”
The Coffee House plays singer-songwriters and rare acoustic versions of songs. Listeners will hear Jack Johnson, Passenger, Norah Jones, Ray Lamontagne, Ed Sheeran, Damien Rice, Jason Mraz, David Gray, Vance Joy and Ryan Adams.
