Dawes covers Lucinda Williams’ ‘Crescent City’ in-studio to celebrate new album

Dawes

Dawes

Dawes followed up 2013’s breakthrough effort Stories Don’t End with their fourth studio album All Your Favorite Bands via their independent Hub Records label. In celebration, Taylor Goldsmith and company stopped by the SiriusXM studios to perform a slow-burning cover of Lucinda Williams’ 1988 ode to New Orleans, Crescent City, for The Spectrum. A perfect introduction to their most live-sounding project to date, Dawes’ version slows things down a bit while filling out the southern rock original around Goldsmith’s breezy vocals.
