SiriusXM Remembers Legendary Guitarist Eddie Van Halen With The Van Halen Tribute Channel

SiriusXM is sad to share the news that legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen has passed away at the age of 65 from cancer.

Starting tonight, October 6, at 9 pm ET, SiriusXM’s Deep Tracks will become The Van Halen Tribute Channel in honour of the late rock icon and will feature his band’s greatest hits, as well as remembrances from hosts and artists.

Eddie Van Halen was one of the most influential guitarists in the history of rock. Van Halen made 12 albums, including the chart-topping 5150, 0U812, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, Balance and Greatest Hits. The band has sold 80 million records around the world.

Along with his work in Van Halen with his brother Alex (drums), Michael Anthony (bass, vocals), David Lee Roth (vocals), Sammy Hagar (vocals), Gary Cherone (vocals) and Wolfgang Van Halen (bass), Eddie Van Halen also delivered the amazing guitar solo in Michael Jackson’s #1 hit, ‘Beat It.’
