As U.S. Thanksgiving happens this weekend, we’re giving thanks to America’s family farmers, and to Willie Nelson and his fellow Farm Aid board members — Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews, along with all of the other amazing artists that donate their time and talents — as we present our special holiday rebroadcasts of the organization’s 34th annual concert that will air on Willie Nelson’s exclusive SiriusXM channel, Willie’s Roadhouse (Ch. 59).
“These are the folks who feed us,” is how Willie Nelson described the farmers at a press conference that preceded the marathon concert, “and we need to let them know we need them. It’s 34 years, but who’s counting?”
This feast for the ears features highlights from the recent Farm Aid 2019 sold-out concert for 30,000 fans at the Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, WI – in the heart of America’s dairy belt, where family farmers are fighting for their very existence — including full sets from Willie Nelson & Family, Neil Young (with Lukas & Micah Nelson & Promise Of The Real), John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds, Bonnie Raitt, Luke Combs, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Jamey Johnson, Margo Price, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, and four-time Grammy nominees Yola and Tanya Tucker.
Hosted by Willie’s daughter Paula Nelson, the eight-hour special will air on Thanksgiving Day from 2-10 pm ET and Sunday 11/26 from 10 am-6 pm ET only at Willie’s Roadhouse.
The U.S.’s longest-running concert-for-a-cause, Farm Aid has raised more than $57 million over the past three decades to promote a strong and resilient family farm system of agriculture. Farm Aid is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to keep family farmers on the land. For more information on the concert and how to support Farm Aid, visit the organization’s website.
