The Howard Stern Show’s new catchphrase “Hit ’em with the Hein!” is everywhere

“Hit ’em with the Hein!”
The Howard Stern Show's Jon Hein (l) with Jason Caplan, the man who brought "hit 'em with the Hein!" to the masses!

By now you’ve heard the infamous Howard Stern Show catchphrase: “Hit ’em with the Hein!”

But in case you live under a rock, Stern Show staffer Nik Ruckert is credited as the mastermind behind the saying that has been terrorizing Jon Hein whenever he gets up from his desk. Jason Kaplan can’t stop laughing or saying it. Hence, “Hit ’em with the Hein!” was born.

Well, looks like sportscasters and sports fans alike can’t get enough of the hilarious saying either. Here are some of the best “Hit ’em with the Heeeeeeeeein’s” we’ve heard on the field and on the course.

Patriots Preseason

“Hit ’em with the Hein!” applies to a great pass rush as we found out during an NFL preseason game between the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints. Patriots defensive end Chris Long blew right past Andrus Peat while rushing the quarterback on Aug. 11, and a CBS Boston sportscaster praised the move with Jon Hein’s least favourite catchphrase.

PGA Championship

While Henrik Stenson was vying for his second straight major title during the PGA Championship in late July, he stepped up to the 6th hole and launched a good-looking drive on the fairway. He must have been helped by the dude in the gallery who belted out a huge “Hit ’em with the Hein!” directly after Stenson made contact.

Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals

Best for last: A sportscaster (really wish we knew these guys’ names so we can give them the credit they deserve) in Detroit has a real passion for the catchphrase. So much so, he had to say it twice.

What’s better? The first was a five-second long “Hit ’em with the Hein” that really touched on the true spirit of the catchphrase.

UPDATE: We figured it out. Thanks, Jason Fielder for the good laugh.
