Hits 1 brings you the excitement of the 2018 American Music Awards

Go behind the scenes of the 2018 American Music Awards (AMAs), the world’s largest fan-voted awards show, with Hits 1 in Hollywood. The annual awards celebrate the country’s favorite artists across several genres and feature performances from today’s hottest acts. Tracy Ellis Ross, daughter of Diana Ross, will host the awards for the second year in a row.

The Hits 1 crew will be on hand for the AMAs rehearsals, bringing listeners updates from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater as artists prepare their performances. They’ll also interview some favorite Hits 1 artists on the red carpet as nominees, presenters and guests enter the event. The full awards ceremony will be broadcast on ABC starting at 8pm ET this Tuesday, October 9th.

The stars of the upcoming Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, Rami Malek, Joe Mazzello and Gwilym Lee, will be on hand to introduce multi-platinum selling group Panic! At The Disco. The Brendon Urie-fronted band will pay tribute to Queen at the ceremony by putting their own spin on Freddy Mercury’s epic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Soul and gospel legends Gladys Knight, Ledisi, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin and CeCe Winans will collaborate on a performance honoring the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

Other performers include multi-platinum-selling artist Ciara, two-time American Music Award winner Missy Elliott, first-time AMA nominee Dua Lipa. benny blanco will perform with Halsey and Khalid. For her first televised performance after giving birth, Cardi B will be joined by multi-platinum selling Latin singers Bad Bunny and J Balvin to perform their song of the summer, “I Like It.” The new mom has a total of eight AMA nominations, including New Artist of the Year presented by Capital One® Savor® Card and Favorite Artist – Rap/Hip-Hop. Rounding out the performances will be Mariah Carey, Post Malone featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Carrie Underwood.
