Mandatory Metallica returns to SiriusXM this November

Throw the horns and get ready for the return of Mandatory Metallica, a limited run channel celebrating the metal masters.

Mandatory Metallica originally aired on SiriusXM in 2009. It returned in 2013 when the band performed a private concert for SiriusXM at the Apollo Theater in New York City. This time out, along with hits, rarities and concert recordings from throughout the band’s iconic career, Mandatory Metallica will feature music from Metallica’s new album, Hardwired…to self-destruct, due out November 18th.

There will also be a special edition of SiriusXM’s “Town Hall” series, with James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Rob Trujillo answering questions from a select group of SiriusXM listeners in the SiriusXM studios in New York City. The “Town Hall” special will be hosted by music journalist and SiriusXM host David Fricke,

Mandatory Metallica will air beginning Wednesday, November 16 at 5:00 pm ET and will air through Wednesday, November 23, via satellite on channel 40 and through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at siriusxm.ca.
