A brand new season of NHL action is upon us. This week, some key games for SiriusXM NHL Network Radio fans include Ottawa at Toronto, Vegas at Buffalo, and Winnipeg at Nashville.

Saturday, October 6th – Ottawa Senators at Toronto Maple Leafs
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

Most people expect the Maple Leafs to be a Stanley Cup contender this season, but what is expected of the other team from the province of Ontario?  Will they end up in the basement of the Eastern Conference, and maybe the entire league?

Sunday, October 7th – Detroit Red Wings at Los Angeles Kings
10:40 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

While the Red Wings continue to rebuild, the Kings are looking to build on last season, when they grabbed the first Western Conference wildcard spot, before being swept in the first round by the Vegas Golden Knights.

Monday, October 8th – Vegas Golden Knights at Buffalo Sabres
3:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 220

After surprising everybody in the sporting world last season with their stellar debut (making it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final), can the Golden Knights repeat, or even improve, on that result?  Over in the Eastern Conference, the Sabres finished last this past season, but most expect this young team to improve this time around.

Tuesday, October 9th – Colorado Avalanche at Columbus Blue Jackets
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

Both of these teams were wildcard entries into the playoffs last season, and are looking to improve this time around.  The Blue Jackets are still looking for their first ever post-season series victory, while the Avalanche have a couple of Stanley Cups in their history, though that was a while ago.

Wednesday, October 10th – Philadelphia Flyers at Ottawa Senators
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

Most expect the Senators to dwell in the league basement this season, but what about the Flyers?  Last spring, they lost to their cross state rivals in the opening round, bowing out in 6 games to the Penguins.  This time around, Philadelphia has their eyes on first place in the tough Metropolitan Division, after finishing 7 points back of top spot last season.

Thursday, October 11th – Winnipeg Jets at Nashville Predators
8:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

Is this a preview of the 2019 Western Conference Final?  You ask who win the Stanley Cup come June, and many will pick either of these two squads to be that team.  The Predators and Jets met up in the second round of the playoffs this past spring, and Winnipeg emerged after a hard fought seven game series.

Friday, October 12th – NO NHL GAMES
