Here are some key games for SiriusXM NHL Network Radio fans this week across the league, including Florida at Toronto, Nashville at Calgary, and Detroit at Columbus.

Saturday, February 1st – Edmonton Oilers at Calgary Flames
10:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

After the spirited game this past Wednesday (won by Calgary 4-3 in the OK Corral Shootout), the two Alberta teams go at it again tonight in Cowtown.  The Oilers weren’t happy about the Mark Giordano contact on Connor McDavid, so does that simmering anger carry over to this game?  The  Kassian-Tkachuk affair appears to have been settled, but who knows.  As for the hockey, it was top-notch, and this would make for a great playoff series this upcoming spring.

Sunday, February 2nd – Pittsburgh Penguins at Washington Capitals
12:30 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

Another great NHL rivalry goes tonight in D.C., as the Pens and Caps renew hostilities.  Both teams have recently won the Stanley Cup, and this season, both teams are at the top of the food chain in the tough Metropolitan Division.  This is their first meeting this season, and they have three more games against each other before the regular season wraps up.

Monday, February 3rd – Florida Panthers at Toronto Maple Leafs
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

This one is basically a play-in game two months before the playoffs.  The Panthers and Maple Leafs are both clawing for the third, and final, playoff spot in the Atlantic Division.  Falling short, an Eastern Conference wildcard slot could be up for grabs, but a team doesn’t want to have to rely on that.  Therefore, the two points on the line tonight are of the upmost importance for both clubs.

Tuesday, February 4th – Vegas Golden Knights at Tampa Bay Lightning
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

In the past two months, the Lightning has played like the team most people expected them to be this season.  In the past two months, the Golden Knights have fired their popular head coach, and can’t seem to separate themselves from the pack in the jammed up Pacific Division.  While Vegas play better at home than on the road, Tampa Bay are road warriors.  Flip a coin.

Wednesday, February 5th – Toronto Maple Leafs at New York Rangers
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

While the Maple Leafs find themselves in an unexpected battle for an Eastern Conference playoff spot, the Rangers are not getting a post-season invite in the mail…this time around.  New York has a surplus of NHL capable goaltenders, so one of the big questions less than a month out from the NHL Trade Deadline is do they move one of those backstops?

Thursday, February 6th – Nashville Predators at Calgary Flames
9:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 167

The reports of the demise of the Nashville Predators appear to have been greatly exaggerated, as the Preds have recently beaten the likes of the high flying Washington Capitals, and remain very much alive in the Western Conference playoff pursuit.  The Flames, coming off recent emotional back-to-back games with provincial rival Edmonton, have their eye on first place in the Pacific Division.

Friday, February 7th – Detroit Red Wings at Columbus Blue Jackets
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

Don’t bother buying the DVD on the 2019-20 Detroit Red Wings; nothing to see here.  The Wings have a lot of work to do in order to get this team back to where they’re accustomed to being…the playoffs.  Tonight they tangle with the Blue Jackets, who many believe have the Coach of the Year behind the bench.  John Tortorella has his team playing competitive hockey every game, and that has them challenging to play past the first week of April.
