Here are some key games for SiriusXM NHL Network Radio fans this week across the league, including Tampa Bay at Boston, Winnipeg at Edmonton, and Ottawa at Chicago.

Saturday, March 7th – Tampa Bay Lightning at Boston Bruins
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

The top two teams in the NHL Atlantic Division square off in Beantown, with the Bruins looking to nail down first place in that bracket.  Boston edged Tampa 2-1 this past Tuesday evening.  It’s all about the post-season for the Lightning, who put up impressive numbers last season, only to crash and burn in the first round of the playoffs.  Boston also has the Stanley Cup Playoffs on their mind, as they fell one game short of hoisting the big silver mug last June.

Sunday, March 8th – Vegas Golden Knights at Calgary Flames
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

A recent eight game winning streak catapulted the Golden Knights to the summit of the topsy turvy NHL Pacific Division, though there is no guarantee their reign will last.  In this division, a team can go from first place one week, to fighting to retain a wild card position the next.  The same applies to the Calgary Flames, who are not the team they were last season.  They’re coming off a big comeback win over the Blue Jackets.

Monday, March 9th – Arizona Coyotes at Winnipeg Jets
8:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 219

The old Jets meet the new Jets, but much more importantly, it’s a battle of two teams desperately trying to find some consistency as the season tumbles to its inevitable conclusion.  Both clubs remain in the crowded hunt for a NHL Western Conference playoff spot, and any stumble at this point could be fatal.

Tuesday, March 10th – Tampa Bay Lightning at Toronto Maple Leafs
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

Unless the Bruins falter, and/or the Panthers soar, this is a preview of the first round NHL Stanley Cup playoff match in the Atlantic Division. These two teams have split the first two games they’ve played this season, and will meet up again on March 25th.  And will meet up again in early April.

Wednesday, March 11th – Winnipeg Jets at Edmonton Oilers
9:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 167

Memories of Dale Hawerchuk vs. Wayne Gretzky come flooding in whenever these two teams meet up.  This time around, the Jets are scrapping to grab one of the NHL Western Conference wildcard spots, while the Oilers have their sights set on top spot in the Pacific Division.  We don’t need a play-in round in the NHL; the exciting regular season is plenty enough!

Thursday, March 12th – Vancouver Canucks at Arizona Coyotes
10:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

The loss of goaltender Jacob Markstrom has hurt the playoff aspirations of the Canucks, as they watch the likes of the Minnesota Wild climb up the standings and challenge Vancouver.  The Coyotes are another one of those teams that are looking to get back into the thick of things, so consider this a playoff game in March.

Friday, March 13th – Ottawa Senators at Chicago Blackhawks
8:30 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 220

Lucky Friday the 13th, as the NHL features five games this evening. Can the Blackhawks qualify for the playoffs this season?  They’ve been a pleasant surprise, keeping up with the Coyotes, Jets, and Predators.  As for Ottawa, good things are on the horizon for this team, who have completely refurbished the roster.
