Here are some key games for SiriusXM NHL Network Radio fans this week across the league, including the Islanders at the Wild, Columbus at Calgary, and Toronto at Buffalo.

Saturday, March 16th – Washington Capitals at Tampa Bay Lightning
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 218
These two teams have come a long way since their Southeast Division days. The Capitals are the defending Stanley Cup Champions, and the Lightning are the odds-on-favourite to capture the big mug this June. Tampa has run away with the Atlantic Division, while Washington have been in a season long battle with the New York Islanders for top spot in the Metropolitan Division.

Sunday, March 17th – New York Islanders at Minnesota Wild
6:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91
While the Islanders have their eyes on first place in their division, the Wild are fighting for their playoff lives. Most likely a Western wildcard is the path to the post-season for Minnesota Wild, though time is running, so the two points up for grabs this evening are paramount.

Monday, March 18th – Vegas Golden Knights at San Jose Sharks
10:30 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91

Tonight’s matchup could be a preview of a first round, or second round, Pacific Division playoff matchup. Both of these teams could easily find themselves in the Stanley Cup Final this June, and just as easily both of these teams could be on the golf course by the end of April.

Tuesday, March 19th – Columbus Blue Jackets at Calgary Flames
9:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 167
With all the changes the Blue Jackets made at the NHL Trade Deadline, they’re not guaranteed a post-season invite in the Eastern Conference. Tonight they’re in Southern Alberta, facing a Flames team that is a powerhouse at home, and are in a season long tussle with the San Jose Sharks for first place in the Pacific Division.

Wednesday, March 20th – Toronto Maple Leafs at Buffalo Sabres
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Regardless of the standings, it’s always a feisty game when the Sabres and Maple Leafs meet up, particularly when they do so in Buffalo. After a promising start, it’s turned out to be a disappointing season for the Sabres, who’ll miss the playoffs for the 8th straight year, the longest post-season drought in franchise history. Different story for the Maple Leafs, who despite a lackluster couple of games last week against Tampa Bay and Chicago, have had a good season, and will go up against the Boston Bruins (again) in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Thursday, March 21st – Tampa Bay Lightning at Carolina Hurricanes
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91
If you’re the Lightning, you can’t wait for the playoffs to get going. If you’re the Hurricanes, you want to make sure the playoffs include you this time around. The ‘Canes have been a pleasant surprise in the Metropolitan Division, and still could finish as high as first in that grouping, though realistically third place, or an Eastern wildcard, is more likely.

Friday, March 22nd – Minnesota Wild at Washington Capitals
7:00 PM Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Not an easy matchup tonight, as the Wild are in D.C. to face a tough Capitals squad. The Caps need the two points in order to nail down first place in the Metropolitan Division, while the Wild want the two points as part of their pursuit of a Western wildcard spot. Minnesota have been better on the road than at home this season, while Washington sport an impressive home-and-away record.
