Happy Birthday Willie Nelson!

This weekend, Willie Nelson turns 86 years young. Sure, I’ll play you some Willie to celebrate but I wanted to put your ears on something special, too. Over on Willie’s Roadhouse, SiriusXM Channel 59, they’ll celebrate with an exclusive concert recorded live off the floor with Willie Nelson & Family. You’ll hear his sons Lukas & Micah and special guests Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats with conversation from SiriusXM Host and Willie’s daughter, Paula Nelson. Catch the show:

Saturday 4/27 at 2 pm & 7pm ET
Sunday 4/28 at 11 am & 8 pm ET
Monday 4/29 12pm & 6 pm ET
Tuesday 4/30 12 am & 9 pm ET

P.S. if ANYONE is allowed to celebrate his birthday two days in a row, it’s Willie Nelson.

Jade Bird Reflects on Her Self-Titled Debut Album

Jade Bird is a guest on the show this weekend! She joins me by phone from Newcastle to gush about her first full-length release and re-live some of her personal highlights leading up to it. What advice would she give to herself at 12 years old (when she started to perform)? I’ll also play you a brand new song from the album.

Sheryl Crow and Johnny Cash’s Redemption Day

Perhaps you’ve heard Sheryl Crow’s 1996 song ‘Redemption Day.’ Maybe you’ve also heard Johnny Cash cover it. Now, the two voices come together for a re-recorded version now featuring the late Johnny Cash. Crow says this the first taste of what will likely be her final album titled Threads, coming this summer.

Read more about what lead to this version of the song straight from Crow in her personal essay on Medium.
