What is SiriusXM Music for Business?

SiriusXM Music for Business features both a satellite and internet solution with over 70 music channels spanning all genres of musical interest and taste. Included in the internet service are 29 fully dedicated business music channels that can assist business owners and marketing managers in creating an entertaining atmosphere for their customers. The business service is intended for use in a variety of business applications including; food service industry, retail sectors, professional offices, healthcare facilities including hospitals, dental offices and long term care facilities, hospitality industry including hotel, motel, resorts, clubs, health clubs and fitness centres, or any business that requires a compelling turn-key background music solution.

Can I block channels that I don’t want on SiriusXM Music for Business radio?

Many of our satellite and internet radios have the ability to block, password-protect, or hide channels you’d prefer not to play. Please refer to your radio manual for instructions.


I want SiriusXM Music for Business in more than one location. Do I need separate accounts for each?

Separate locations or multiple radios in one location will require separate subscriptions. However, you are able to put all of your subscriptions on one account. With both our satellite and internet service, multiple radios at one physical location may qualify for a multi-subscription discount.


What equipment do I need to get SiriusXM Music for Business?

Access to our internet service requires either the purchase of a SiriusXM Commercial Player or you can also access SiriusXM Music for Business through your existing computer with the online media player and through your smartphone or tablet using the SiriusXM app. The minimum recommended requirements include: Connection Speed – ISDN (64 kbit/s) or higher.

To get our Satellite service, you’ll need to purchase a satellite radio. Prices generally start around $80 and go up to around $200 for locations requiring a commercial equipment package.


Can I install SiriusXM Music for Business equipment myself?

Yes. Installing either a satellite or internet radio is relatively easy. When installing a satellite radio, you’ll need to make sure the SiriusXM antenna supplied with your radio is mounted outside with a clear view to the sky. To access our internet service you have two equipment options; (1) a dedicated SiriusXM Commercial Tuner which requires a Wifi or ethernet internet connection or (2) an internet-connected computer which can access our service using our online media player. Once installed, these solutions can be easily connected to your business’ current sound system. What is the difference between the SiriusXM Music for Business satellite and Internet services?

Both our satellite and internet services offer great commercial-free music. However, with the internet service, 29 of the music channels have been re-programmed and are 100% uninterrupted (no hosts or SiriusXM branding). Our internet offering also includes additional music channels that are available only to internet subscribers.

Can I use my consumer SiriusXM subscription in my business?

SiriusXM offers both consumer and business subscription plans. Only our business services includes the required payments of public performance royalties to organizations such as SOCAN and Re:Sound, which represent the music copyright holders in Canada. These royalties are included in our business subscription plans. With SiriusXM you get a unique music service that helps create an engaging and entertaining environment for your business, and we pay the music royalties on your behalf.


Why are music service subscriptions for business more expensive than consumer subscriptions?

When music is played at a business for the enjoyment of patrons and others, this is deemed a “performance” by the music artist, for which a royalty fee must be paid to performance rights organizations such as SOCAN & Re:Sound.

For the convenience of our business customers, SiriusXM includes these royalties in the price of our commercial subscription plans, and pays the required royalties directly to the performance rights organizations on behalf of the businesses.


How much does SiriusXM Music for Business cost?

Our internet service is $35.99 per month and includes over 90 music channels, 29 of which are formatted specifically for business use, with no interruptions, on-air hosts, or mentions of SiriusXM. Our satellite service is $35.99 per month for over 70 channels. Longer term discounts may apply.

Unlike our consumer service, a subscription to our business service incorporates the payment of public performance royalties to performance rights organizations that represent the music copyright holders, including SOCAN and RE:Sound in Canada. These royalties are different from the royalty fees which are added separately to the cost of our consumer subscription plan. Unlike other commercial music subscription services, there are no long-term contracts for either service.
