Leonard Cohen passed away at the age of 82 this past Thursday. It is a sadness, but perhaps not a terrible shock, even though just two weeks ago he released his brilliant new album, You Want It Darker.

“I am ready to die. I hope it’s not too uncomfortable,” he told the New Yorker not long ago. “That’s about it for me.”

And while the multiple JUNO winner, Grammy winner, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, among so many accolades, may have been ready, his fans and admirers weren’t. However, with his incredible catalog of music, it’s certainly no exaggeration to simply say that his music will live forever.

Here now are a few remarkable musical moments from Canada’s beloved Leonard Cohen.
