THE STRUMBELLAS – I’ll WAIT
An award-winning band from Lindsay, On. The Stumbellas just released their highly anticipated new album Rattlesnake, the follow up to their 2016 release, Hope,which included the # 1 singl,e “Spirits.” Rattlesnake is an uplifting album, shining a spotlight on optimism with honest lyrics and songs that can rattle any stadium. With ‘I’ll Wait;, lead singer Simon Ward says it’s one of his favourite songs that the band has created so far, and he really pushed to make the song sound larger than life.
JESSE MAC CORMACK – STAY
Montreal’s Jesse Mac Cormack releases the new single “Stay” from his debut album, Now. Jesse says the inspiration for the song is about the fire, the passion that beautiful thing that doesn’t last. These are the moments that mark us forever. Afterwards, life catches up to us. We fall back in the patterns that have been holding us back. It’s tempting to constantly move on to another dream, as soon as the flame goes out. Check out the amazing visuals created for the song below.
MARSHALL FT. JOCELYN ALICE – MR PARACHUTE
Ryan Marshall from Burlington, On’s very own award-winning band Walk Off The Earth is getting ready to release his solo album, Layers, in June. Marshall, who collaborates with singer-songwriter Jocelyn Alice on the track, says lyrically he was investigating everything from toxic relationships of the past to present day insecurities. Sonically, he says “the melodies have a hooky, pop-style melody, but I pulled away from that a bit by giving them this dark, future-based style beat”. Let us know what you think of “Mr Parachute”.
THE HONEST HEART COLLECTIVE – NORTH AMERICAN DREAM
Keep your eyes and ears on Thunder Bay, ON. rock ‘n’ roll band The Honest Heart Collective. Their sophomore album Grief Rights is out now. The song ‘North American Dream’ tells the tale of the struggle it takes to do what you love and not have that dream fade away. Best line from the song? “Cause either you’re something or you’re nothing/You’re broken, or you’re loving/Well if loving means nothing/ being broken meant something to me”.
