Sending Well Wishes To John Prine
I saw John Prine in concert during a trip to New York last month and he had all the energy in the world, dancing his way off stage and joking around with the crowd throughout his set. He seemed to be in great spirits but this week he had to take a pause on tour, announcing he’ll have to undergo stent surgery and postpone some scheduled dates. He shared that his doctors warned him he has an increased risk of having a stroke at the moment, so we’re sending him all the good vibes we can!

He’s officially postponed eight dates including Salt Lake City, Seattle, Portland, and the Edmonton Folk Festival up north. His team promises they are working on rescheduling the affected dates.
Get well soon, John.

The Revival of Willie Nelson’s CCR Cover
Isn’t it funny how a song from decades ago finds new legs with a different audience years later? It was back in 2013 when Willie Nelson covered Creedance Clearwater Revival’s classic tune, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?” on his album To All the Girls… featuring collaborations with several legendary singers from Loretta Lynn to his daughter Paula Nelson who sings on this particular track. Without spoiling the episode for someone who hasn’t caught up yet…the season finale of HBO’s Big Little Lies featured Nelson’s cover as the end credits ran after a dramatic ending. All of a sudden, the song is everywhere again, including in the Top 10 on iTunes & Amazon music.
The Bros. Landreth Announce New Album and Share New Single
The Bros. Landreth are back with their sophomore album coming September 27th titled ’87. They say, “…it’s a nod to the real beginning of the band; the year they became brothers.” They’ve also launched a label imprint called Birthday Cake via Sony Music Canada / The Orchard. They’re on the road this fall too, and you can find the dates at https://www.thebroslandreth.com/. This weekend, I’ll play you the lead single “Got to Be You” in Sunday Service!
