NEW MUSIC OUT THIS WEEK

Great to see Toronto’s Wildlife back with some new sounds – looks like they have an album on the way later this year called Take The Light With You. Lead singer Dean Povinsky describes the albums first single this way:

“Wasted” is a song about trying to look at life differently when things basically suck. It’s so easy to be negative. Sometimes you’ve got to do a little mental karate to get back on track, and actually be productive or helpful to another person. When there are outside forces acting upon you that you don’t like, simply acknowledging them can drain their power.”

PUP SHARES NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR SIBLING RIVALRY

What if you had great adventures of survival, excitement and horror with your sibling? Award-winning punk band PUP shares their music video for “Sibling Rivalry,” which animates the stories of lead singer Stefan Babcock’s camping adventures with his sister. What could go wrong you ask? Check out the video for all the things not to do on your upcoming camping trips.

PUP stop by the studio for a Live At The Verge session very soon and if you have a question for the band let me know @drewonthemic

ARKELLS & RAPTORS HEAD COACH NICK NURSE

During the 2019 NBA playoffs, there was a picture of the coach from the Toronto Raptors, Nick Nurse carrying a guitar off the plane and we all wondered why. Was he practising for the Arkells show this past weekend in Toronto? What a great way to keep the celebration going for your 2019 NBA champions then with their head coach rocking out with award-winning band Arkells performing Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours.” When I hear I want my “chip with the dip” this is what I picture – celebrating a win with good music and spontaneous dancing.
