Mac DeMarco Shines on The Tonight Show
West coast Canadian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Mac Demarco is about to release his fourth album, ‘Here Comes the Cowboy’ on May 10th. The title was inspired by Mac’s use of “cowboy” as a term of endearment for his close friends. Growing up in Edmonton before moving to the west coast, Mac saw a lot of people who were actual cowboys, but these aren’t the people he’s referring to. Mac just wrapped up his tour stops at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival. after which he made his return to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform “All of Our Yesterdays.” My favourite part is when Mac turns up the funk at the 3:32 mark and lets the guitar rock out. Award winning indie rock musical collective released Let’s Try The After Vol. 2, their second EP this year to celebrate the band’s twentieth anniversary. If you can believe it, we haven’t had the band in for a studio session – until now. Granted, it can be a little tough to fit nineteen band members into a studio, so you can imagine it took some time to organize. The band just played two sold-out hometown shows in Toronto and will be doing multiple shows in Montreal, New York and Los Angeles soon.

Said The Whale Take You To the Record Shop
JUNO Award-winning West Coast band Said The Whale stopped by SiriusXM Canada for a Live at The Verge session to perform songs from Cascadia. For “Record Shop,” the band had some help from Parker Bossley on the track, which started with a guitar riff in the studio of one Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat, Mounties). The song centers around an individual who is faced with the recent divorce of his parents and heads down to the record shop to find salvation in music.
