There are so many awesome things coming up in 2016, it only make sense that we list off a few things we have to look forward to:
More Howard Stern: Five more year of Howard Stern on SiriusXM! How can we not be happy about that? The King of all Media signed a five-year deal that will include an in-the-works video experience that will keep Stern content on SiriusXM for 12 years! Of course, there’s the Howard Stern Show itself, which has been on fire, kicking of 2016 with interviews with John Stamos and Samuel L. Jackson. Keep it coming, Howard!
Guns n Roses reunite: We’ve written about this elsewhere, but for fans of Ozzy’s Boneyard, Hair Nation and Liquid Metal, the fact that Axl Rose is going to be sharing the stage with Slash and Duff McKagan as GnR is a pretty big deal. While we know they’ll be headlining at Coachella, there’s also talk of a massive stadium tour later in the year. Lets just hope everyone can get along.
LCD Soundsystem reunite too: Not to be left out, five years after a massive farewell at New York’s Madison Square Garden, James Murphy and co. have reconvened as LCD Soundsystem. Like Guns N Roses, they’ll be headlining two nights at Coachella, but there are firm plans for both a new album and tour to go along with it. SiriusXMU fans definitely going to be primed for this one.
A new season of Toronto Blue Jays: After a stellar 2015 season, it’s hard not to be a little excited where the Jays, Canada’s baseball team, will end up in 2016. The new MLB regular season kicks off for the Jays Sunday, April 3rd against the Tampa bay Rays, with Toronto’s home opener, against the Boston Red Sox, going down Friday, April 8th. You know that MLB Network Radio is where you’ll find complete coverage of the entire league, 24/7.
Adele – lots of Adele: Adele was the biggest music story of 2015, with her new album 25 selling close to 7 million copies in the span of weeks! She was also all over SiriusXM thanks to her exclusive Town Hall and the popularity of her mega-single, Hello. Expect to hear lots of Adele on channels like SiriusXM Hits 1 and The Spectrum over the coming months, as the superstar singer also gets ready for her already sold-out North American concert tour.
A new record from Gord Bamford: 2015 was a great year at SiriusXM for country music – we were part of the Boots & Hearts Festival with The Highway, and we had great Artist Confidentials with superstars Dallas Smith and Dean Brody. We also launched the Canadian country music channel, CBC Country. So, what’s up for 2016? Well, look for something special with Gord Bamford, who has a new album due out sometime this Spring, and will be taking part in a SiriusXM Artist Confidential to play music from it.
