Steven Van Zandt is a musician, performer, songwriter, arranger, music producer, music supervisor, TV producer, actor, director, Broadway producer, author, live event producer, international DJ, activist, historian, teacher, member of the New Jersey Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and recognized internationally as one of the world’s foremost authorities on both contemporary and traditional rock and soul. After helping create the “Jersey Shore” sound with the Asbury Jukes he became a founding member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, and went on to become a successful solo artist in his own right, recording and performing with his band Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul.

America’s favorite game show host is now host of a weekly program in the Underground Garage. A riot of wacky rock and roll!

Mark Lindsay is the voice on all the hits of Paul Revere & the Raiders, and wrote and produced many of them. His songs have been used extensively in commercials and movies, most recently Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Licorice Pizza, and The Gray Man. Mark has appeared on more than 700 network TV shows, and in addition to hosting American Revolution, he’s still writing songs, recording, and touring.

The “Mayor of the Sunset Strip” has moved his office to the Underground Garage. The longtime L.A. radio legend and confidante to the stars has joined up with Stevie Van Zandt. He’s gone “Underground” and “Nationwide.” You can now hear Rodney Bingenheimer where he’s always belonged—Little Steven’s Underground Garage.

Lenny Kaye has quite a history as a rock journalist and author, noted producer, curator of the epic Nuggets compilation, and musical partner of Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Patti Smith. Now he’s added Underground Garage DJ to his impressive resume, and you’re going to love what you hear.

Kid Leo is general manager of the Underground Garage. The “Kid” got started at legendary WMMS in Cleveland, helped make the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame a reality, and went on to Columbia Records as VP. He was named one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s “Heavy Hundred in the Music Industry,” and CNN lists him as one of “The Top 10 DJs of All Time.”

Michael Des Barres was raised in England and now lives in Los Angeles. He has appeared in countless feature films and television shows, and sold seven million albums as a writer and artist. A working musician for five decades, he has performed around the world in venues from backroom bars to Live Aid.

The Mighty Manfred is the frontman and driving force behind the Woggles, the garage rock band from Athens, Georgia that continues to release records and tour worldwide. Periodically he takes his Underground Garage show out on the road, spinning tunes from all across the country.

Palmyra Delran is a devotee of the “trashy pop” sound she explored during her stint as leader of the cult fave “grrrrl” rockers, the Friggs. She’s continued to help propagate the style as a solo artist. She is a student of rock ‘n’ roll history and has learned her lessons well. She shares her knowledge at the lectern in the studios of the Underground Garage.

The “red hot” Dollyrot gets you moving in the morning, whether you are just getting up—or just getting in!

Slim Jim Phantom is the drummer for The Stray Cats—the most famous and successful rockabilly revivalists of the last 40 years. He’s also performed with Jerry Lee Lewis, the late Lemmy Kilmster of Motorhead, and the late Harry Dean Stanton. In between climbing Mount Everest and touring the world, he sits in for the Rockabilly Rave Up every Sunday night.

Chris Carter’s music criticism has appeared in the L.A. Times, CREEM, BAM, and the L.A. Reader. He is president of QM Management and a recognized Beatles expert by ABC, NBC, CBS, and Entertainment Tonight. He also co-founded Dramarama and produced the acclaimed film Mayor of the Sunset Strip.

Bill Kelly, legendary “Guru of the Garage,” began his radio career in 1969. (Little Steven has said that Bill’s original show inspired him to get involved in broadcasting.) The self-proclaimed “Black Hole of Rock and Roll” has long been an avid collector and authority on obscure ’60s garage rock music.

While bartending at The Garden Bowl in Detroit, Ko Melina helped start the storied Living Room Sessions, which then exposed The White Stripes and Brendan Benson. She’s currently part of the fierce fuzz bass attack of the Dirtbombs, named one of the “Top 10 Live Bands” on the planet by Spin Magazine.

Genya Ravan escaped a WWII concentration camp as a child and came to America full of piss and vinegar. In the ’60s, she formed the very first all-girl band, Goldie & the Gingerbreads, signed by Ahmet Ertegun to Atlantic Records. She has since produced the Dead Boys, Tiny Tim, and Kool & the Gang.

Since the mid ’70s, The Count Peter Zaremba fronted the New York City garage rock legendary band The Fleshtones. He got his start working for legendary NYC concert impresario Ron Delsner. He’s also been an MTV host and a food and travel columnist for the New York Daily News and Time Out New York. He now adds DJ to his rock and roll portfolio.

A native of Queens, NYC, Speedie John is a veteran band member of the Speedies, The Fuzztones, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. He was joined by his wife Laura in the latter, and together they run the fashionable Manic Panic Salon in Los Angeles. He also dabbles in movie business dealings. He brings a bit of Hollywood to the Underground Garage.

He’s a lifelong music “nut” who has more than 100,000 records and/or CDs in his personal collection. His childhood heroes were DJs and he now follows in their stead with a reverence for the history of rock and roll equally matched by a passion for its future.
