2022 NHL Fearless Playoff Predictions Third Round
And then there were four.
The Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, and Colorado Avalanche all remain running in the marathon that is the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Lightning, of course, are the reigning champions, having won the Cup in 2020, and 2021, and have three Stanley Cups overall on their resume.
The Oilers have five Stanley Cups on the mantle, though they haven’t hoisted the big mug since 1990. Edmonton lost in seven games to the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006. This is their first Conference Final appearance since that spring.
The Avalanche haven’t been to the Conference Final since 2002, and have two Stanley Cups to their name, last winning it all in 2001.
And the New York Rangers haven’t lit up Broadway since doing so back in 1994, ending a 54-year Stanley Cup Drought. They were last in the Eastern Conference Final in 2015, were last in the Stanley Cup Final in 2014, and have four Stanley Cups in their trophy case.
In our crazy pool, Joe Thistel was the only participant to go a perfect 4-for-4 in the second round, while Jake Hahn also went 4-for-4…with all wrong picks.
