This Saturday, April 20, is Record Store Day 2024 when thousands of music and vinyl collectors head to the shops to purchase new and classic music. Among the releases are albums from two of Canada’s most beloved bands, The Tragically Hip and Barenaked Ladies.

Not only are The Tragically Hip this year’s official Ambassadors for Record Store Day Canada, but they’re also going into their archives to unleash a vinyl release of Live At CBGB’s. Recorded January 14, 1993, at the legendary New York City venue, the band was then touring in support of their third album, Fully Completely.
This Saturday, you can hear Live At CBGB’s fully, completely, and exclusively on The Tragically Hip Radio Ch. 757 three times throughout Record Store Day.
Tune in at 10 am, 3 pm and 9 pm ET.

Meanwhile, Record Store Day 2024 is a huge day for Barenaked Ladies. They’re releasing a 2 LP version of In Flight, their eighteenth studio album, on two 12-inch 180-gram Vinyl Picture Discs in a gatefold double die-cut jacket along with a four-colour insert with lyrics, AND SiriuXM’s Iceberg Ch. 758 is airing “35 Live,” BNL’s instant classic live performance from Toronto’s legendary El Mocambo.
BNL’s Ed Robertson says, “The 35th Anniversary show at the Legendary El Mocambo was a very special night. All of our friends and family were there, and hardcore fans travelled far and wide to be in the room for it. It was a chance to look back AND to look forward. The energy in the room was incredible. We played songs that were nearly 35 years old and songs that were barely 35 days old. Most important of all, we had a blast doing it!”
You can hear “35 Live” this Saturday at 12 pm on Iceberg.
