Grateful Dead Channel (Ch. 23) celebrates the life and legacy of Jerry Garcia during “The Days Between,” August 1–9, marking the time between Jerry’s birth and his passing.
Christina Aguilera is back on the road for the first time in over a decade and this time she’s bringing along her family. The singer-songwriter stopped by Radio Andy (Ch. 102) to chat with Andy Cohen about her upcoming tour, The Liberation Tour, named after her latest album, Liberation.
This is Aguilera’s first major tour since 2008, and she was a little apprehensive about juggling the pressures of tour life and being a mom to two kids, son Max, 10, and daughter Summer, 4.
Aguilera and Cohen also touched on Aguilera’s roots in the Mickey Mouse Club, and how she would like to meet up with Britney Spears again.
Besides the Mickey Mouse Club, Aguilera and Spears shared an iconic moment at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. Everybody remembers their iconic performance of “Like a Virgin” with Madonna and the kiss between Spears and Madonna that ended the performance. However, most don’t recall that Aguilera also kissed Madonna on stage.
Later in the interview, she and Cohen discuss Aguilera’s spot-on impression of Samantha from Sex and the City, which she performed while playing the Kim Cattrall character in a Saturday Night Live sketch. According to Andy, Cattrall approved and even wanted the singer-songwriter to play Samantha in Sex and the City 3!
