Pre-Cup Programming

In the days leading up to the competition, listeners can tune in to SiriusXM for the best golf programming in audio as SiriusXM’s expert hosts — including former players, coaches and insiders — provide a comprehensive preview of the Ryder Cup matchup.

SiriusXM will also present a Ryder Cup special, Backstory: Ryder Cup. Host David Marr III looks at the Europeans’ success in Ryder Cups played on their home turf over the last three decades. Marr will also take the audience back 30 years to the 1993 Ryder Cup in England, the last time the Americans won the Ryder Cup on European soil, to retell the story of American Jim Gallagher. Gallagher’s two key match wins, including a stirring victory over the legendary Seve Ballesteros, helped Team USA capture that year’s Cup.

Additionally, former tour pro Smylie Kaufman will host two special joint podcast episodes alongside European Tour pro Andrew “Beef” Johnston, debuting on September 26 and 27. The team-up of Kaufman’s SiriusXM podcast The Smylie Show, and Johnston’s Beef’s Golf Club combines American and European perspectives on the Ryder Cup. Kaufman will also record nightly episodes of The Smylie Show while in Italy, reacting to the results of each round and previewing the following day’s matchups.
