Grateful Dead Channel (Ch. 23) celebrates the life and legacy of Jerry Garcia during “The Days Between,” August 1–9, marking the time between Jerry’s birth and his passing.
When it was released on July 25th, 1989, nobody knew how much impact the Beastie Boys’ second album would have on hip-hop. In fact, when Paul’s Boutique dropped that summer, it wasn’t the big hit many expected after the group’s huge debut, Licence to Ill, back in 1986. Over the years though, the record has been hailed as one of the greatest in music history in any genre. It’s full of classics like “Hey Ladies,” “The Sounds of Science,” and “Shake Your Rump,” and features incredible production courtesy of the Dust Brothers.
