February is Black History Month, and throughout the month SiriusXM’s Mixtape: North will be airing a series of specials to celebrate the contributions of Canadians to the rich history of hip-hop.

- Dr. Amara Pope sits down with Mixtape: North host Frank Vinatra to discuss her recent research study focused on “The Missing History of Canadian R&B.” The topic stems from the impact music had/ has (although not fully realized at the time) on this little girl growing up in a predominantly white place.
Important Moments in Canadian Black History
Airing: All month long
- Mixtape: North Will be spotlighting moments in Black Canadian History hourly throughout the month. These segments will be hosted by Frank Vinatra.
SOCAN Black Music Award Winners
Airing: Monday, February 5
- SiriusXM Canada sponsored the 2023 SOCAN Black Canadian Music Awards, which occurred at the end of last year. All throughout February, Mixtape: North will be highlighting the winners, playing music from LIZA, Savannah Re, Myles Castello and NAIIM & DVBLM, and sharing exclusive interviews.
