Lance Reddick

Acclaimed character actor Lance Reddick, best known for his beloved roles in the iconic HBO series The Wire and popular John Wick action movies, has died. He was 60.

Reddick passed away “suddenly” Friday morning, his publicist Mia Hansen said in a statement, attributing his death to natural causes. The news was first reported by TMZ.

A day before his passing (March 16), Reddick appeared on SiriusXM host Bevy Smith’s show on Radio Andy (Ch. 102), Bevelations, in promotion of the next installment in the Keanu Reeves-starring John Wick franchise, John Wick: Chapter 4 (due out on March 24). During the interview, the actor reflected on learning about the September 2021 death of his friend and The Wire co-star Michael K. Williams, who played the fan-favourite Omar Little in the groundbreaking TV series. Reddick also looked back at the legacy of The Wire and its impact on his career.
