The mighty Wu-Tang Clan headlined an unforgettable show at the Knockdown Center in Maspeth, Queens August 11. The legendary group formed in Staten Island indeed brought da ruckus last night, performing a slew of their greatest hits (or “wu bangas”) and fan favourites — from “Bring da Ruckus” to “C.R.E.A.M.” to “Protect Ya Neck” to “Triumph” — all in celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop!
The “For the Love” event, presented by SiriusXM and Pandora, saluted hip-hop and remembered the milestones the genre has achieved since its origins 50 years ago. In addition to the headliner Wu-Tang, the show featured opener Lola Brooke and appearances from Public Enemy icon Flavor Flav, Sway Calloway, and more.
