Head outside for the Heritage Classic, plus more NHL games the wee
Itk’s another week of NHL action, including the Heritage Classic. Check out all the games of the week, which you can hear on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio.
Saturday, October 28th – 7 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Winnipeg Jets at Montreal Canadiens
Can the Jets make the playoffs again this season? They’ve signed a couple of their key free agents to long-term contracts, so they’re all in. Les Canadiens are still patiently putting together the pieces for a competitive team, though the loss of forward Kirby Dach for the entire season is a major setback.
Sunday, October 29th – 7 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Calgary Flames at Edmonton Oilers
The Battle of Alberta hits the great outdoors this Sunday evening as the Flames and Oilers take part in the Heritage Classic from Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. The two points up for grabs are the key attraction for both squads, who have not gotten off to impressive starts.
Monday, October 30th – 7 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Florida Panthers at Boston Bruins
After a record-setting regular season in 2002-23, the Bruins were punted out of the playoffs in the opening round by the upstart Florida Panthers. Once again, Boston are off to a very good start, and they need no reminding about what happened to them this past April.
Tuesday, October 31st – 8 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Los Angeles Kings at Toronto Maple Leafs
While both the Kings and Maple Leafs are among the NHL teams that can legitimately be considered contenders this season, both lineups have question marks. Is the Los Angeles’ goaltending good enough for a deep playoff run? Who’s the Maple Leafs’ number-one starter? Can both teams play defence when needed?
Wednesday, November 1st – 10 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Arizona Coyotes at Anaheim Ducks
Flash forward five years into the future, and both these teams may be powerhouses in the National Hockey League. Just not right now, though the Coyotes have proven to be a difficult team to play against out of the gate. Both Arizona and Anaheim boast an impressive array of young talent on either their immediate roster or in the system.
Thursday, November 2nd – 10:30 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Vancouver Canucks at San Jose Sharks
Will the Canucks have enough to seriously challenge for a playoff berth in the tough Pacific Division? They got off to a great start, twice upending the favoured Oilers, before having their work ethic questioned by head coach Rick Tocchet. Tonight should be a relatively easy two points for Vancouver. Should be.
Friday, November 3rd – 7 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Philadelphia Flyers at Buffalo Sabres
Just over two weeks into the 2023-24 NHL regular season, the Sabres have been a bit of a disappointment, while the Flyers have shown that they’re not going to be an easy two points. Still plenty of time left for Buffalo to right the ship.
