With the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chad Smith has played drums on some of the most memorable rock tracks of the last several decades. But the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member has also worked on numerous side projects over the years, teaming up with music superstars not in RHCP.
During the exclusive special Chad Smith’s Side Projects on SiriusXM’s Whole Lotta Red Hot (Ch. 315), Smith takes us on his musical journey outside of his work with RHCP. Listen as the GRAMMY-winning drummer spins and shares stories about his tracks with Ozzy Osbourne, The Chicks, Tom Morello, Post Malone, Johnny Cash, The Avett Brothers, John Fogerty, and more.
Check out Chad Smith’s Side Projects on the SXM App.
Smith is still making music with RHCP, though. Earlier this week, RHCP announced that Return of the Dream Canteen — their second Rick Rubin-produced album of 2022 following Unlimited Love — will be released on October 14.
Launched in April 2022, Whole Lotta Red Hot features music from the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ nearly four-decade-long career, live concert audio from the archives, genre-spanning songs by their biggest influences, celebrity Guest DJs, exclusive commentary from the band, and more.
