Grateful Dead Channel (Ch. 23) celebrates the life and legacy of Jerry Garcia during “The Days Between,” August 1–9, marking the time between Jerry’s birth and his passing.
It was one year ago that music fans awoke to the news that David Bowie had passed away, just two days after releasing his 25th studio album, Blackstar. Soon the pieces began to form, and it was clear Bowie knew that his time on this plain was coming to an end.
In the year that followed, fans would celebrate his memory. Tributes from all sorts poured in, he topped the Billboard charts with Blackstar (his first and so far only #1 on that chart), and the world celebrated the indelible mark the Thin White Duke had left on the world around him.
To celebrate the memory of David Bowie, we’ve compiled a list of some of his classic musical moments, along with some remembrances from fans. As always, you can hear Bowie on a variety of our channels, including 1st Wave, 80s on 8, Classic Rewind and The Spectrum, to name just a few.
