Starting Monday, April 20, Green Day’s Idiot Nation — a channel created by Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, fueled by their lifelong obsession with punk rock — joins the SiriusXM lineup.
“We’re absolutely stoked to have our very own channel on SiriusXM to share all the songs we love. The ones that made us pick up guitars, pile into vans, and chase something loud and real,” Green Day shared. “We’re digging into everything, including bands we love, old Green Day demos, live tracks, deep cuts, and telling the stories behind it all. Come hang with us and let it rip!”
SiriusXM listeners can find Green Day’s Idiot Nation on satellite channel 314 and the SiriusXM app with a smart device when it officially launches on April 20.
Green Day’s Idiot Nation is a true extension of the band’s lifelong relationship with punk rock. With decades spent at the top of their game, Billie Joe, Mike, and Tré bring a deeply personal, artist-driven perspective to the channel, hand-selecting the music and sharing the stories behind it.
The channel plays everything from Green Day’s earliest demos, covers, and live recordings to their biggest, stadium-shaking anthems, alongside essential punk tracks spanning generations, from genre-defining pioneers to new noise from up-and-coming bands.
Between the music, the band shares personal stories from the road and the studio, along with firsthand insights into the artists and songs that influenced their journey.
Tré Cool hosts a new monthly show, “Ground Support,” spotlighting the bands Green Day has toured with over the years, both as headliners and as fans, and featuring music and behind-the-scenes stories from artists they’ve shared the stage with.
Formed in 1986 in Berkeley, CA, Green Day (Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, Tré Cool) is one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time, with 14 studio albums released, more than 75 million records sold worldwide, and 22 billion cumulative streams.
The five-time GRAMMY® Award-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees released their breakout album, “Dookie,” in 1994, which sold over 10 million copies and achieved 10x Platinum Diamond status, and is widely credited with popularizing and reviving mainstream interest in punk rock, catapulting a career-long run of No. 1 hit singles.
In 2004, Green Day released the rock opera “American Idiot,” which captured the nation’s attention, selling more than 8 million copies in the U.S. alone and taking home the GRAMMY® Award for Best Rock Album. In 2010, a stage adaptation of “American Idiot” debuted on Broadway to critical and commercial acclaim.
On January 19, 2024, the band released their GRAMMY®-nominated 14th studio album, “Saviors,” which included hit singles “The American Dream Is Killing Me” and “Dilemma.” The album debuted at No. 1 on seven different Billboard charts and marked their fifth No. 1 in the UK.
In September 2025, after two years, 106 shows, 88 cities, 33 countries, and over 2.5 million tickets sold, Green Day wrapped their monumental, sold-out world tour — the biggest of their career — in support of “Saviors,” proving that 35 years in, the band is still at the top of their game.
