The new Green Day-inspired comedy NIMRODS hits theatres Friday, August 14, and SiriusXM is celebrating with an exclusive behind-the-scenes takeover on Green Day’s Idiot Nation.
Throughout the week, hear stories from the making of the film featuring Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt alongside cast members Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Kylr Coffman, and Fred Armisen. You’ll also hear music from the NIMRODS soundtrack and songs from Green Day’s iconic nimrod. album every hour through August 16.

Written and directed by Lee Kirk, NIMRODS is a coming-of-age road comedy inspired by Green Day’s early years touring in a van before the band’s breakthrough success. The film follows three teenage friends who mistakenly believe their garage band has been invited to open for Green Day on New Year’s Eve, sending them on a wild cross-country adventure from Kansas City to Los Angeles.
The film stars Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, Ryan Foust, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Fred Armisen, Bobby Lee, Sean Gunn, and Mckenna Grace, while Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool appear as themselves and also serve as producers.
