It’s a short week of NHL action on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio

NHL Network Radio NHL games of the week

Saturday, December 23rd – 3 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Vegas Golden Knights at Florida Panthers

Final busy day/night of National Hockey League action before the brief Christmas break, with 14 games on the schedule. It’s a Saturday afternoon matinee in Sunrise as the Panthers welcome in the Vegas Golden Knights. This rematch of the 2023 Stanley Cup Final (won by Vegas, if you’ve been living under a rock) features two teams that are once again in the playoff mix in their respective divisions.

Tuesday, December 26th – NO GAMES TONIGHT

The NHL gets going again tomorrow with 14 games to choose from. Remember to check out NHL Network Radio SiriusXM Channel 91 for all your hockey needs. The 2024 World Juniors take over the airwaves today, beginning at 8 am Eastern with Finland playing Canada, followed by Norway facing the U.S. at 11:00 am Eastern.

Wednesday, December 27th – 7 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
Ottawa Senators at Toronto Maple Leafs

14 games in total today as the National Hockey League emerges from the Christmas Break, including the latest installment of The Battle of Ontario. Toronto defeated Ottawa 4-3 back on December 7th. When these two teams last met up in Toronto (November 8th), the Senators were the ones that emerged with the 6-3 win. Almost two months later, the Sens have been unable to build on that victory, and have been mired in last place in the Eastern Conference seemingly for weeks now. That has led to head coach D.J. Smith being fired and former Senators’ bench boss Jacques Martin taking the reins. The Maple Leafs have posted one of the league’s best records since losing in November to the Sens, despite having to deal with a litany of injuries, including to their starting goaltender.

Thursday, December 28th – 10 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 167
Philadelphia Flyers at Vancouver Canucks

Are these the two pleasant surprises in the NHL so far this season? A number of people thought the Canucks (under head coach Rick Tocchet) were better than their record showed last season, and so far, they’ve lived up to that billing this time around. Not many picked the Flyers (under head coach John Tortorella) to make a real run at an Eastern Conference playoff spot this season, but just past the 30-game mark, that’s exactly what Philadelphia are doing. Is it sustainable?  The same question was recently asked of Vancouver, and the answer is yes.

Friday, December 29th – 7 pm Eastern – SiriusXM 91
New York Rangers at Florida Panthers

With the 2023-24 NHL regular season almost at the halfway mark, the Rangers have been one of the battleship teams in the league. They’ve come back to the pack a bit but remain an impressive team that can play whatever style of hockey you throw at them. Tonight, they visit a Panthers’ team looking to replicate last spring’s playoff success, and so far, Florida has shown that last spring was not a fluke.
