Joining SiriusXM Hits 1’s “The Morning Mash Up,” Kevin Jonas discussed the making of his debut solo single, “Changing,” and playing it for his brothers, Joe and Nick, for the first time. Stream Kevin’s full interview on the SiriusXM app now.
“It just instantly felt like my song … It felt like it was a part of me, and I went in to record it, and it was the first time I ever sang, cut a vocal, and felt like, ‘Okay, I’m feeling good about it,’” Kevin said, adding that he then decided to debut it live at the Jonas Brothers show in Boston’s Fenway Park.
When it came to playing the song for his brothers for the first time, “I played it for both of them,” he said. “We had an A&R session. I said, ‘Hey, guys, listen. I recorded something. I just need you to hear this.’ ‘Cause we were finishing up ‘The Album’ and ‘Greetings From Your Hometown,’ and I was like, ‘Guys, I did something. I feel really good about it. I don’t know what it’s gonna be for, what it’s gonna be.’ And the support from them has just been immaculate and great.”
Kevin also visited The Boost on SiriusXM Canada Talks to about debuting “Changing” in front of a crowd.
