September 21 was a big day for Hamilton, Ontario’s Arkells, as the band released their ninth studio album, Laundry Pile.
“Anyone who keeps a journal will tell you that writing is one of the best ways to work through the chapters of your life,” vocalist Max Kerman said when the album was announced earlier this year. “Our new album, Laundry Pile, is a chapter that documents some of the messy parts that end up teaching you a lot: love, regret, desire, shame, and the longing to get it right.”
To celebrate the release of the new album, Max Kerman dropped by the SiriusXM studios to talk to Jeff Leake about the making of Laundry Pile, playing live and coming up with a setlist, and much more,
Hear their interview exclusively on The Leake in Review on the SiriusXM App, and tune in to SiriusXM The Verge to hear Arkells and other alternative Canadian artists.
Plus, don’t miss it when Max Kerman visits The Breakdown with Allison Dore, airing live on Monday, October 2 at 3:20 pm on SiriusXM Canada Talks 167.
