NHL Games of the Week: Saturday, January 29 – Friday, February 4
Saturday, January 29th – 7:00 pm Eastern SiriusXM 91
Vegas Golden Knights at Tampa Bay Lightning
Two of the battleship teams in the National Hockey League line up against each other this evening in the Sunshine State. The hometown Lightning have been playing top notch hockey recently, and face a Knights team that are leading the Pacific Division, despite missing some of their most effective offensive weapons. And Jack Eichel is still a number of weeks away from making his Golden Knights’ debut.
Sunday, January 30th – 1:00 pm Eastern SiriusXM 91
Seattle Kraken at New York Rangers
The expansion Kraken have played like a traditional expansion team, but they‘ve also taken a few points away from unsuspecting clubs. Tonight at MSG, the Rangers would be well served to take the new kids seriously, as New York looks to solidify their spot in an enticing multi-club dogfight for top spot in the Metropolitan Division.
Monday, January 31st – 7:00 pm Eastern SiriusXM91
Florida Panthers at Columbus Blue Jackets
While the Panthers can print playoff tickets now (harkening back to when playoff tickets were still actually printed), the question from this point on is which team will they face in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs this May? They’re in a three-way horse race for first place in the Atlantic Division, jockeying for position with the Lightning and Maple Leafs.
Tuesday, February 1st – 7:00 pm Eastern SiriusXM 91
Washington Capitals at Pittsburgh Penguins
This rivalry has not grown old; if anything, it’s been renewed. Caps and Pens almost always delivers the goods, and this season both teams are factors in the tough Metropolitan Division. And, yes, it helps that both Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby (and Evgeni Malkin!) continue to perform at their customary high level.
Wednesday, February 2nd – 9:30 pm Eastern SiriusXM 91
Calgary Flames at Arizona Coyotes
While the Coyotes won’t be playing any hockey games this May, the Flames hope to be, and two points tonight would go a long way to making sure that happens. With the exception of the division leading Golden Knights, the rest of the Pacific Division is a traffic jam, with four teams trying to claim the two available playoffs spots.
Thursday, February 3rd – NHL All-Star Break begins
No games in the NHL this evening, as the league prepares for the All-Star weekend. This year the NHL All-Star Game is in Vegas, and SiriusXM NHL Network Radio is all over the proceedings.
Friday, February 4th – 7:00 pm Eastern SiriusXM 91
It’s the always enjoyable NHL All-Star Skills Competition, tonight from Las Vegas, Nevada. The stars of the league are put through their paces in a variety of skill testing competitions. Earlier in the day (1 pm ET), listen in during Media Day, when we sit down with some of the players and talk shop.
