Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star Zoe Saldana is not just standing up for the galaxy, she’s speaking out on behalf of women, especially those in leadership roles.

“It’s like the moment a woman gains some kind of position of power, she will be questioned,” Saldana explained to Sway Calloway during an interview on Shade 45 Wednesday.

“I know that people took a lot of things from this [presidential] election; I want to learn from everything,” Saldana said. “There was a realization that I just had in this last election is that America is racist — of course, there’s racism everywhere, I’m not saying that there isn’t. But I think that sexism is much stronger, and it’s much more aggressive.”

She was “with her” during the 2016 race and has not shied away from sharing her reflections about the 2016 election.

“I found it really offensive that Hillary Clinton was just questioned in a way that was, ‘Let’s just prove your incompetence because you couldn’t even like handle your server,’” she said. “And I’m just like, ‘People, she’s up against a man that calls women pigs on national television, and she’s incompetent?’”

Zoe Saldana concluded, “There’s a big problem here, and we have to address this pink elephant in the room — and it has to do with sexism in America.”
